What causes bad breath?
There are many products sold to combat bad breath, but which ones actually work? Let's discuss that now!
The daily oral hygiene ritual is taken for granted by most people.
But why does the bad breath persist?
Is it not just a matter of oral hygiene?
Bad breath in the morning is normal. The mouth dries out overnight, causing the unpleasant odor in the morning. With normal oral hygiene, it can be easily remedied.
In 90% of cases, "real" bad breath originates directly in the oral cavity. It is caused by sulfur-producing bacteria. A dentist can make an accurate diagnosis.
Since gingivitis or periodontitis is often the underlying cause of bad breath, a visit to the dentist is mandatory!
If no cause is found, other diseases must be investigated.
As an immediate measure, you can do the following:
1. Professional teeth cleaning
2. Clean your tongue regularly
3. Oil pulling
4. Clean between teeth twice a day.
5. Mouthwash with sage, clove, mint
6. Drink plenty of fluids / avoid carbonated drinks
7. Pay attention to nasal breathing
